Diagnodent
Laser Detection of Internal Decay
The widespread use of flouride has made cavities more difficult to diagnose. The Diagnodent allows Dr. Miller to look inside the grooves of the tooth. The traditional way to check for cavities was by looking for visual signs of decay on the tooth, checking x-rays, or feeling for a soft area with a dental hook. Diagnodent is a laser technology that scans your teeth with harmless pulses of light. When a cavity is present, flourescent light of a different wavelength bounces back to the sensor, which is translated to a digital read-out. In general, the highr the number, the greater the amount of decay in the tooth. When a cavity is present, the Diagnodent also produces an audible signal.
You'll benefit from our use of Diagnodent, because it helps find decay that may have previously gone undetected. By diagnosing decay early in it's development, we can prevent more extensive damage. Your restorations will be small and less costly and you'll be able to retain more of your own natural, healthy tooth.
Digital X-rays
Reducing exposure to radiation by 65%, Digital X-rays are the way of the future. Through utilization of Digital X-rays, Dr. Miller can make fast documentation of your current dental situation and allow for a more accurate diagnosis of decay and other conditions.
Intra-Oral Camera
Through the innovative technology of the intra-oral camera, patients are now able to view their teeth on screen. You can actually see what Dr. Miller sees. Oral health education is critical in maintaining a healthy mouth. It allows you to visually have a greater awareness of your oral health and the impact it has on your teeth.
The intra-oral camera has the appearance of a pen and easily maneuvers into ptients' mouths. This contemporary dental device transfers images of your mouth onto a monitor, allowing you to view your teeth first hand. The image may be magnified 400 times and allows Dr. Miller to show you any necessary dental treatment.

Diode Laser
Periodontal Therapy
Not long ago we were telling patients that the bone lost due to periodontal disease could never be regrown. With newer technologies and techniques, bone can be maintained and sometimes regrown.
The laser is essential for three reasons:
With low bacterial counts, infected tissue removed, and an increase in circulation, the progress of periodontal disease is stopped and mant times bone regrows.
Tissue adjustment
In certain dental procedures, tissues in the mouth have to be reduced or removed. The laser provides great benefits over traditional methods of tissue adjustment such as very little to no pain after the procedure, quick healing times, and no damage to adjacent gum areas. We perform procedures daily that were either sent to a specialist or the hospital before the laser made them more simple.
